A Field Tracking Experiment — Powered by Arkvyl
What if a Spider-Tracker from the world of Spider-Man could be reimagined as a real interactive digital experience?
That question inspired Laba-Laba Tracker, an experimental web project created by Arkvyl.
Inspired by the concept of the Spider-Tracker featured in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Laba-Laba Tracker takes the idea of a device used to locate and track spider-related activity and transforms it into an interactive web-based field tracking experience.
This is not an official Spider-Man or Marvel product. It is an independent creative experiment by Arkvyl inspired by the concept.
From Spider-Tracker to a Web Experience
The Spider-Tracker concept has always been an interesting part of Spider-Man technology.
Rather than simply knowing where something is, a tracker turns the environment into a source of information. Signals, locations, and movement can become clues that help the user understand what is happening around them.
Laba-Laba Tracker takes that basic idea and asks:
What would happen if we turned the concept into a website?
Instead of holding a fictional tracking device, users can open a browser and enter a digital field interface.
The result is Laba-Laba Tracker.
A Global Spider Tracking Map
At the heart of the experience is an interactive world map.
Spider markers appear across different regions, creating the feeling of a global network of sightings. Users can explore the map, investigate signals, and discover activity from different locations.
The interface intentionally feels more like a piece of fictional tracking technology than a conventional website.
Dark visuals, neon signals, radar elements, animated markers, and a field-console aesthetic help create the atmosphere of a Spider-Tracker brought into the digital world.
Scan the Area
One of the main interactions is Scan Area.
The idea comes directly from the fantasy of operating a tracking device: select an area, initiate a scan, and wait to see what the system detects.
Laba-Laba Tracker turns that idea into an interactive web experience.
The scanning system, signal indicators, and radar-inspired interface are designed to make users feel as though they are operating their own digital tracking console.
Near Me
The Near Me feature brings the concept closer to the user.
Instead of only exploring a global map, users can investigate activity around their own location.
It creates a simple but exciting question:
“Is there anything being detected near me?”
That feeling of curiosity is an important part of the experience.
Share Your Sightings
A tracker becomes more interesting when multiple people contribute information.
Laba-Laba Tracker includes Share Your Sightings, allowing observations to become part of the broader tracking experience.
The concept is inspired by the idea of a network of people collecting information from different locations.
Every sighting adds another piece to the map.
The Field Guide
The Open Field Guide expands the experience beyond tracking.
Finding a signal is only the beginning. Understanding what has been detected is another part of exploration.
The field guide is designed as a companion to the tracker, giving the project the feeling of an actual digital field-research system.
Why Spider-Man Inspired It
The inspiration behind Laba-Laba Tracker comes from the way Spider-Man stories often combine superhero action with technology and experimentation.
The Spider-Tracker is a particularly interesting example because it turns something seemingly simple — finding a spider or tracking activity — into a piece of fictional technology.
With Spider-Man: Brand New Day providing the inspiration for this particular concept, Arkvyl wanted to explore what that idea could look like if it existed as a modern web application.
The goal wasn’t to recreate the movie exactly.
Instead, the project takes the core idea of a Spider-Tracker and gives it an original visual identity, interface, and interactive experience.
A Fan-Inspired Digital Experiment
Laba-Laba Tracker is ultimately an experiment in turning fictional technology into something users can interact with.
It combines:
- Interactive world mapping
- Spider sighting markers
- Area scanning
- Nearby detection
- Radar-inspired visuals
- Signal tracking
- Field-guide concepts
- Sighting sharing
- Game-inspired progression
The result is somewhere between an interactive map, a fictional tracking system, and a digital field experiment.
More Than Just a Spider Tracker
Although the project is inspired by Spider-Man, the underlying concept goes beyond the character.
It explores an idea that Arkvyl finds interesting:
What if fictional technology could become an interactive digital experience?
A fictional tracker becomes a web application.
A map becomes a field.
A signal becomes a discovery.
And a simple spider sighting becomes part of a larger digital world.
Explore the Tracker
The experiment is now live.
Open arkvyl.com/spidertracker, explore the global map, scan an area, check nearby signals, and discover what the tracker can find.
