The Vision of a Global Learning, Discussion, and Creative Community
A project developed by Rantissi Abdus Salam & Raniya Alqonitha Iskandar under Arkvyl
WhiteRoom Lab began with a simple idea: what if learning could feel less like entering a classroom and more like entering a space built for curiosity?
The original concept of WhiteRoom Lab was a personalized digital learning environment where people could explore knowledge, set goals, complete exercises, take quizzes, participate in challenges, discover new information, and discuss what they learned.
But as the idea developed, we began to realize that learning does not always happen through lessons.
Sometimes, learning happens when someone asks a question.
Sometimes, it happens through an argument between two different perspectives.
Sometimes, it happens when someone from another country introduces an idea we have never encountered before.
And sometimes, the most valuable thing we can learn is simply realizing that there is another way to see the world.
This led WhiteRoom Lab toward a larger vision.
Not only a learning platform.
Not only a discussion forum.
Not only a community.
But a digital space where curiosity, learning, conversation, creativity, and people from different backgrounds can meet.
WhiteRoom Lab is a space for people who want to learn more, think deeper, and explore beyond what they already know.
The Vision
The long-term vision of WhiteRoom Lab is simple:
Make curiosity borderless.
The internet has made information accessible across borders, but access to information is not the same as meaningful learning.
WhiteRoom Lab aims to create an environment where people can do more than consume information. They can question it, discuss it, challenge it, connect it with other ideas, and create something from it.
A student from Indonesia could discuss astronomy with someone from Japan.
A programmer from India could exchange ideas about artificial intelligence with someone from Saudi Arabia.
An artist from Brazil could collaborate with a creator from Southeast Asia.
A student interested in philosophy could discover an entirely different perspective from someone thousands of kilometers away.
Different countries.
Different backgrounds.
Different experiences.
One room.
WhiteRoom Lab.
From WhiteRoom Lab to a Larger Ecosystem
The original WhiteRoom Lab concept focuses on learning.
The expanded vision keeps that foundation, but builds several layers around it.
The idea is not to abandon the Lab.
The Lab remains the core.
Everything else exists to expand what learning inside the Lab can become.
The ecosystem can be imagined through five major components:
WhiteRoom Lab → WhiteRoom Community → WhiteRoom Live → WhiteRoom World → Global WhiteRoom
Each component has a different purpose, but all of them are connected by one philosophy:
Learn. Question. Discuss. Create. Explore.
01 — WhiteRoom Lab
The foundation of the entire project.
WhiteRoom Lab is envisioned as a personalized learning environment designed around curiosity and continuous exploration.
Users could have their own profiles and learning journeys, allowing them to define what they want to explore and how they want to learn.
Potential features include:
- Personalized learning goals
- Learning materials
- Exercises and quizzes
- Challenges and experiments
- Progress tracking
- Streaks and achievements
- Interesting facts and discoveries
- AI-assisted learning
- Discussion spaces
- Personal profiles
- Community contributions
- Knowledge archives
The goal is not to make learning feel like another school assignment.
Instead, WhiteRoom Lab should make it possible for someone to enter because they are curious, not because they are forced to.
A person might arrive wanting to understand quantum physics.
Someone else might want to learn programming.
Another person might want to understand philosophy.
Someone else might simply have a question they cannot stop thinking about.
WhiteRoom Lab should have room for all of them.
02 — WhiteRoom Community
Learning becomes more powerful when it becomes collective.
WhiteRoom Community is the envisioned social layer of WhiteRoom Lab, built around ideas rather than popularity.
Users could create questions, discussions, theories, observations, projects, and conversations around different subjects.
Potential discussion categories include:
Science · Technology · Artificial Intelligence · Programming · Astronomy · Space · Philosophy · Psychology · Art · Creativity · Society · Future · Research · Mathematics · Engineering · Ideas & Theories
The objective is not to compete for the highest number of likes or followers.
The objective is to create meaningful conversations.
A good discussion should encourage people to explain their reasoning, ask better questions, challenge ideas respectfully, and discover perspectives they had not considered before.
For example, someone could ask:
Can consciousness ever be simulated?
One person might approach the question through philosophy.
Another through neuroscience.
Another through artificial intelligence.
Another through computer science.
Another might simply ask a question that changes the entire direction of the conversation.
The result is something different from a traditional lesson.
It becomes collective learning.
03 — WhiteRoom Live
Not every conversation needs to happen through text.
Some ideas are better explained through speech.
Some questions deserve an actual conversation.
WhiteRoom Live is envisioned as a future layer of WhiteRoom Lab for real-time events and discussions.
Possible formats include:
- Live discussions
- Community talks
- Interviews
- Panels
- Student discussions
- Research conversations
- Educational sessions
- Creator talks
- Community events
- WhiteRoom Podcast
The concept of the podcast is particularly interesting because it could evolve beyond the traditional format.
Instead of a podcast simply being something people watch or listen to, WhiteRoom Lab could experiment with making it a participatory experience.
A host enters a virtual room.
Guests join the discussion.
An audience listens.
Audience members can ask questions.
The conversation becomes an event rather than simply a recording.
04 — WhiteRoom World
This is where the WhiteRoom Lab concept could eventually move beyond the traditional web.
WhiteRoom World is envisioned as a 3D social and learning environment, potentially developed through Roblox.
The intention is not to turn WhiteRoom Lab into a conventional game.
Instead, the virtual world would become an extension of the Lab.
A physical representation of the ideas behind it.
Imagine opening Roblox and entering a large, futuristic white environment.
There is no traditional classroom.
There is no single path.
Instead, the world contains different spaces designed for different forms of curiosity.
The Hall
A social gathering area where users can meet, talk, and discover other members of the community.
The Forum
A dedicated space for structured discussions and topic-based conversations.
The Stage
A virtual stage for presentations, talks, interviews, panels, and community events.
The Observatory
A space dedicated to astronomy, space exploration, science, and questions about the universe.
The Lab
An interactive environment for experiments, challenges, simulations, and educational experiences.
The Archive
A digital collection of notable discussions, discoveries, projects, ideas, and community contributions.
The Podcast Room
A virtual studio where hosts and guests can hold conversations while an audience participates.
The purpose is not simply to make a beautiful virtual environment.
The purpose is to ask a question:
What if people could physically enter a discussion instead of simply opening another webpage?
Why Roblox?
Roblox is interesting for this vision because it provides an environment where people can create and participate in multiplayer 3D experiences.
For WhiteRoom Lab, this creates an opportunity to experiment with a different form of social learning.
Imagine an educational discussion where participants do not simply join a video call.
They enter a shared world.
They walk into an auditorium.
They visit an observatory.
They participate in an interactive experiment.
They meet other members before and after an event.
The virtual environment becomes part of the experience itself.
This would make Roblox not a separate project from WhiteRoom Lab, but potentially another doorway into the WhiteRoom ecosystem.
05 — Global WhiteRoom Lab
The ultimate ambition is not simply to make WhiteRoom Lab available internationally.
It is to create a community where ideas can move freely across borders.
Going global should mean more than translating the interface into English.
It means creating opportunities for people from different countries and cultures to meet, discuss, collaborate, and learn from one another.
Imagine:
Indonesia × Japan
An astronomy discussion between students who have never met before.
Saudi Arabia × India
A conversation about the future of artificial intelligence.
Indonesia × Brazil
Artists collaborating on a creative project.
Europe × Asia
A philosophical discussion about technology and humanity.
The important part is not where these people come from.
It is that they found each other because they were curious about the same thing.
The WhiteRoom Lab Culture
Technology alone cannot build a meaningful community.
The culture surrounding the platform matters just as much.
WhiteRoom Lab aims to encourage several principles.
Curiosity
Questions should be welcomed.
A question does not need to be impressive to be valuable.
Sometimes a simple question leads to the most interesting discovery.
Open-Mindedness
People should be able to encounter perspectives that are different from their own.
Understanding another perspective does not necessarily mean agreeing with it.
Thoughtfulness
WhiteRoom Lab should encourage users to explain not only what they think, but why they think it.
Respectful Disagreement
Disagreement is not necessarily conflict.
A disagreement can be the beginning of a deeper understanding.
Shared Learning
Knowledge should not become a competition.
When one person learns something new, the entire community has the opportunity to become richer.
Creation
Ideas should have somewhere to go.
A question can become a discussion.
A discussion can become an idea.
An idea can become a project.
A project can become research.
Research can eventually become something that changes the world.
The WhiteRoom Lab Experience
The long-term user journey could look something like this:
Discover → Learn → Question → Discuss → Collaborate → Create → Share → Explore Again
A user might discover a subject through a discussion.
That discussion could lead them to a learning module.
The learning module could lead to a challenge.
The challenge could generate a question.
The question could become a community discussion.
The discussion could connect them with another person.
Together, they might create a project.
The project could eventually become part of the WhiteRoom Archive.
The process never truly ends.
That is the kind of ecosystem WhiteRoom Lab aims to create.
The Architecture
The long-term vision can be represented as:

The Lab remains at the center.
The community expands around it.
The virtual world provides another dimension.
Live events create real-time interaction.
And the global community connects everything together.
The Long-Term Roadmap
WhiteRoom Lab is not intended to become everything at once.
The project would need to grow gradually.

What WhiteRoom Lab Could Become
We do not know exactly what WhiteRoom Lab will look like five or ten years from now.
And that uncertainty is part of the idea.
The project is an experiment.
It may begin as a learning platform.
Then become a community.
Then become a place for conversations.
Then become a virtual environment.
Perhaps it could eventually become something we cannot describe today.
That is okay.
Because the most important part of WhiteRoom Lab is not the technology.
It is the people and ideas inside it.
Why “WhiteRoom”?
A white room is empty.
There is nothing inside it.
And that is precisely why it is interesting.
An empty room can become a classroom.
A studio.
A laboratory.
A meeting place.
A stage.
A place to think.
Or an entirely new world.
WhiteRoom Lab begins with an empty space.
The community decides what fills it.

The Dream
WhiteRoom Lab is still an evolving project.
Not every feature described in this vision is built today.
Some are concepts.
Some are experiments.
Some may change completely as the project develops.
But behind all of them is one dream:
To create a place where someone can arrive with a question and leave with a new perspective.
A place where learning does not stop when a lesson ends.
A place where people from different countries can meet without needing the same background.
A place where conversations can become ideas.
Where ideas can become projects.
And where projects can become something real.
WhiteRoom Lab is not about building the smartest room in the world. It is about building a room where curious people from around the world can meet, learn, and create together.
The room may begin digitally.
It may eventually become social.
It may become interactive.
It may even become a world.
But the idea remains the same:
Make curiosity borderless.
